These turkey cranberry sliders are quick, easy, and perfect for feeding a crowd. With sweet Hawaiian rolls, savory turkey, tangy cranberry sauce, and a buttery poppy seed topping, they’re a comforting and delicious dish that comes together in about 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (or any soft dinner rolls)
  • 1 pound cooked turkey, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or canned)
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese (or provolone, mozzarella, cheddar)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Without separating the individual rolls, carefully slice the entire slab of Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the greased baking dish.
  3. Spread the shredded or sliced turkey evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the turkey, spreading it into an even layer.
  5. Layer the Swiss cheese slices over the cranberry sauce.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer and press down gently.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  8. Using a pastry brush, generously brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls.
  9. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Use a sharp knife to cut between the individual rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature turkey and cheese. If the turkey is dry, add a splash of chicken broth. To prevent sogginess, drain excess liquid from cranberry sauce. Let sliders rest 5 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts. For make-ahead, assemble up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate; add 5-10 minutes to covered baking time. Freeze unbaked sliders for up to 3 months.
