A warm, spiced eggnog latte that combines creamy eggnog, coffee, and holiday spices for a quick and easy treat. Perfect for family movie nights or holiday gatherings, this kid-friendly drink is ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) high-quality eggnog
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) strong brewed coffee or 2 shots of espresso
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)
  • Extra cinnamon sticks or star anise for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the eggnog and whole milk. Stir occasionally with a whisk.
  2. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves to the saucepan. Whisk continuously for about 30 seconds until the spices dissolve.
  3. Stir in the maple syrup (or honey) and vanilla extract. Continue whisking until the mixture is steaming (around 150°F), but not boiling.
  4. While the milk mixture warms, brew the strong coffee or pull the espresso shots in a separate mug.
  5. Once the milk mixture is steaming, remove from heat. Pour the hot coffee into the saucepan and whisk gently to combine.
  6. If using a frother, transfer about 1/4 cup of the latte to a separate container and froth for 15-20 seconds. Pour the froth back on top. Alternatively, use the jar method: shake warm milk in a jar for 30 seconds, microwave for 15 seconds, then spoon foam on top.
  7. Pour the latte into mugs. Top with whipped cream if desired, and garnish with a sprinkle of fresh nutmeg, a cinnamon stick, or star anise. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use oat milk and dairy-free eggnog. For a lower-sugar version, reduce maple syrup to 1 tablespoon and use unsweetened eggnog. To make it kid-friendly, skip the coffee and add an extra 1/2 cup of milk. If the latte curdles, whisk in a splash of cold milk or use an immersion blender. For a crowd, double the recipe and keep warm in a slow cooker on the ‘warm’ setting.
