These crispy air fryer jalapeño popper wontons are quick, easy, and packed with creamy, spicy flavor. Perfect for parties or a last-minute snack, they come together in just 15 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (226g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 medium jalapeños, finely diced (about 3 tablespoons)
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled (about ¼ cup crumbled)
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • 24 wonton wrappers (about 1 standard package)
  • Olive oil spray
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon: Place 4 strips of bacon in a cold skillet. Turn heat to medium and cook until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Once cool, crumble into small pieces.
  2. Prepare the jalapeños: Wash 2 medium jalapeños. Cut off stems, slice in half lengthwise, and scrape out seeds and membranes if desired. Dice finely (about 3 tablespoons).
  3. Soften the cream cheese: If not at room temperature, microwave for 10-15 seconds until soft but not melted.
  4. Make the filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Set up assembly station: Lay out a clean work surface with wonton wrappers, a small bowl of water, and the filling. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Keep unused wrappers covered with a damp paper towel.
  6. Fill and fold wontons: Place one wonton wrapper like a diamond. Drop about 1 heaping teaspoon of filling in the center. Moisten two top edges with water. Fold bottom corner up to meet top corner, forming a triangle. Press edges to seal, pushing out air. Moisten two bottom corners and bring together, pressing to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling (about 24 wontons).
  7. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  8. Arrange wontons: Lightly spray air fryer basket with olive oil. Place wontons in a single layer, about ½ inch apart. Spray tops lightly with oil. Cook in batches if needed.
  9. Air fry at 375°F for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through with tongs. Check at 4 minutes; wontons should be golden brown on bottom. Flip and cook another 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy.
  10. Rest and garnish: Remove wontons and let rest 2 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chives if desired. Serve warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

Don’t overfill wontons; seal tightly to prevent bursting. Work in batches for even cooking. Spray with oil for golden crunch. Flip halfway. Adjust cooking time based on air fryer model. Make extra filling for a quick dip.
