Easy Christmas Tree Cake Dip - featured image

A quick and easy 5-minute dessert dip that tastes just like a Christmas tree cake. Made with simple ingredients like cream cheese, butter, and vanilla cake mix, it’s perfect for holiday parties and last-minute treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup dry vanilla cake mix
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese and butter by letting them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, or microwave in cubes for 10-15 seconds.
  2. Beat the cream cheese and butter together with a hand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the powdered sugar and beat on low speed first, then increase to medium and beat for another minute until thick and creamy.
  4. Mix in the dry vanilla cake mix and vanilla extract. Beat on low until incorporated, then on medium for 1-2 minutes until combined.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of milk and beat on medium speed. If too thick, add the third tablespoon and beat again until smooth and fluffy.
  6. Fold in 1/2 cup of Christmas sprinkles with a rubber spatula until just combined.
  7. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and spread evenly.
  8. Top with extra Christmas sprinkles.
  9. Optional: Let the dip rest in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving to meld flavors.

Notes

Use full-fat block cream cheese, not spreadable. Let cream cheese and butter come to room temperature for best texture. If dip is too thick, add an extra tablespoon of milk. For best flavor, make the night before and add top sprinkles just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
