These easy mummy hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough are a quick, fun, and delicious Halloween dinner. Ready in under 20 minutes, they’re perfect for parties, movie nights, or a whimsical weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (all-beef recommended)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for mummy eyes)
  • Optional: melted butter for brushing
  • Optional: everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Gently press perforated seams together to seal.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each triangle lengthwise into 4-5 thin strips (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide).
  4. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, starting at one end and leaving about 1/2 inch exposed at the top for the face. Overlap strips slightly and press ends to seal.
  5. Place wrapped mummies on prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  6. Brush dough strips with egg wash (or melted butter, if using).
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Let cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet.
  9. Add eyes using small dots of mustard or ketchup on the exposed hot dog.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

Work with room-temperature dough to prevent cracking. Don’t over-wrap the hot dogs; 3-4 wraps is ideal. For best texture, serve immediately. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes.
