This spooky green Halloween punch is quick to make with simple ingredients, featuring a creamy lime sherbet texture and optional dry ice fog for a dramatic effect. It’s a crowd-pleasing, non-alcoholic beverage perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 liters lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
  • 1 can (12 ounces) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 can (46 ounces) pineapple juice
  • 1 quart (32 ounces) lime sherbet
  • 1 cup water
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Dry ice (optional but highly recommended)

Instructions

  1. Chill your ingredients. About an hour before you plan to serve, put the lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, and water in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the punch bowl. If using dry ice, place it in a small, heatproof bowl inside your punch bowl. Never put dry ice directly in the punch. Use tongs and gloves to handle it.
  3. Mix the liquids. In your punch bowl, combine the chilled lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, thawed limeade concentrate, and water. Stir gently.
  4. Add the food coloring (optional). If you want a deeper green, add a few drops of green gel food coloring. Start with 2-3 drops, stir, and add more until you’re happy with the color.
  5. Scoop the sherbet. Just before serving, scoop the lime sherbet into the punch bowl using a large ice cream scoop. Aim for about 6-8 scoops for a quart of sherbet.
  6. Add the dry ice fog effect. If using dry ice, add a few small chunks to the heatproof bowl inside the punch bowl. The fog will start creeping over the edges.
  7. Serve immediately. Ladle the punch into cups, making sure each serving gets a little bit of the sherbet foam. Warn guests not to touch the dry ice.

Notes

For the best texture, use a good-quality lime sherbet. Cheaper brands can be icy and watery. Make sure your limeade concentrate is fully thawed before mixing. If serving kids, skip the food coloring and dry ice; the sherbet alone gives a nice green tint. For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free lime sorbet. For a lower-sugar version, swap the lemon-lime soda for sparkling water and use sugar-free limeade concentrate. Never handle dry ice with bare hands; always use gloves or tongs and place it in a separate container inside the punch bowl.
